Treatments For Low Back Pain

Absolute rest is not recommended, which is why after the first two days we can start to practice moderate physical activity, without making sudden movements or lifting weight.

Pain in the lower back is related to certain conditions of the lumbar vertebrae as well as those of the soft tissues that are found around, such as muscles, ligaments and nerves, in addition to the intervertebral discs. Low back pain or lumbago is the term used to define this condition, which can last a few days or several weeks.

To start treatment for low back pain, it is first necessary to do examinations to determine the causes.

The most important thing is to rule out the possibility of suffering from other, more serious disorders that may present with the same symptoms, such as osteoporosis, or even infections or lesions that require surgery. In the most extreme cases, it can also be cancer.

It is very likely that the majority of people in the world suffer from back pain at least once in their lifetime. The pain can be felt anywhere on the back, but the most common pain is in the lower part, known as the lumbar region.

This pain is very common since it is in this part of the back that the weight of the body is concentrated.

Lumbago is one of the main causes of seeing a doctor after a cold or the flu. The majority of injuries in this area can occur at work, after exerting too much effort lifting a heavy object, after staying too long in the same position, among others.

Acute lumbago can be the result of a fall or inadequate exertion. It affects the muscles and ligaments around the back. Pain is the result of a tear in any of these parts of the body.
