Having oily hair is a burden, but having dry hair is not easy either. Dry hair is annoying and always looks the same, before and after washing.

Dry hair can be the result of external factors like exposure to chemicals or internal factors like illness.

Treat your hair dryness the natural way with these simple home remedies for dry hair.

Watch out for shampoo

Shampoo is one of the most common causes of dry hair. Many people think that having clean hair means having healthy hair, which is why they wash it once a day or even more.

But shampoos often contain harsh cleansing agents that can destroy your hair’s natural oils, which help you retain moisture.

However, a mild shampoo will stimulate the sebaceous glands. It is better to use these than a normal shampoo. Ideal shampoos for dry hair have a pH between 4.5 and 6.7.

Take care of your hair

Dry hair is the most fragile type of hair. They break easily and therefore should be handled gently. When you lather the shampoo, do it gently.

Avoid pulling your hair in any way. Do not rub them with your fingernails, as they can damage the hair and irritate the scalp.

Lather the shampoo with the fleshy part of the fingers. Gently rubbing the scalp with your fingertips will also stimulate the sebaceous glands.

Use a conditioner

Dry hair needs conditioner. Look for products that contain little or no alcohol, since alcohol dries out the hair even more. Conditioners with weak or no scent are generally low in alcohol.

If your hair is very dry, it may be worth using an overnight conditioner, which is applied before bed and rinsed off in the morning.

Oil-based treatments

Hair care professionals generally recommend warm oil treatments to repair damaged and dry hair.

There are oil-based products that you can warm up and apply to your hair for a period of between 5 and 20 minutes (according to the directions on the package).

Place a plastic bag or bathing cap on your hair while the hot oil is working, then wash your hair with a mild shampoo.

Comb less

No matter what you may have been told, brushing your hair too much can break it and cause you to lose it. Fragile hair is all the more vulnerable to excessive brushing.

Always brush them gently, never when they are not dry (use a comb, gently, when your hair is still wet).

The type of brush you use is also important. Hog-bristle or wide brushes are good options, as they help keep our hair from being pulled out too much.
