Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons of butter (60 g)
  • ½ cup of liquid milk (125 ml)
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 8 slices of white sandwich bread
  • 8 slices of ham
  • 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar (15 g)
  • 2 tablespoons of strawberry jam (optional) (40 g)

Preparation

  • Place all the slices of white sandwich bread on a large plate. Ideally, you prepare 4 sandwiches in total.
  • On each of the slices of bread, you will place both a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on each side of the sandwich.
  • In a small saucepan or bowl, beat the eggs with the cup of liquid milk.
  • Then, immerse in the beaten egg the other slices of bread that do not contain ham or cheese.
  • Then use a large griddle or pan that has a smooth surface and place the butter in it.
  • Mix it so that it lubricates the bottom as it melts.
  • When the butter begins to boil, place the sandwiches. Cook them (turning them over) for an interval of 7 to 10 minutes.
  • Finally, when you notice that they have reached their characteristic golden color, take them out of the pan and let them cool for a few seconds.
  • Then cut them in half and let the melted Swiss cheese spread. Sprinkle a little powdered sugar and, if you prefer, add jam.
