A lick of paint and a special inscription related to the upcoming event are enough to transform a jar of jam into a centerpiece. You can also enter a phrase that particularly affects you.

Either way, it’s very simple: acrylic paint and brushes will do. As a final touch, we suggest you use sisal string that you will wrap around the pot. If you want to decorate it more, you can fill it with water and place pebbles or a few flowers on it. And voila ! This pot can also be used as a vase or a candle holder.

2. Tin cans 

Tin cans can be made into centerpieces.

Thanks to their cylindrical shape, compact size and solid structure, tin cans can be perfect decorative objects. Here we offer you a very simple idea to put into practice.

  • Pick an empty tin can, then clean it well.
  • Paint it in the color of your choice. We recommend that you apply two coats of paint.

  • Finally, add artificial flowers or real flowers to it. And here you are with a pretty vase as a centerpiece.

3. Wooden washers as centerpieces

The first task is to find a nice, clean and well-groomed wooden washer. Once it’s done, combine it with other decorative items so that everything goes well together. 4. Plastic bottles 

Plastic is the ultimate recyclable material. To make a centerpiece with plastic bottles, follow the directions below.

  • Cut the bottle in half in the middle.
  • Keep the half that has the neck of the bottle. Cut thin strips at the bottom.
  • Then, pull the bands outward so as to obtain the shape of a Chinese hat.
  • Cut a piece of toilet paper tube, and cover it with paper (the choice is yours).
  • Take a small glass bottle, put glue on the neck, then insert the neck into that of the plastic bottle.
  • Then glue the cardboard tube at the two bottle necks, in order to cover them.
  • Glue small balls of different colors at the ends of the plastic bands.
  • Finally, put real flowers or artificial flowers inside the bottles, and voila. Your centerpiece is finished. If you are using real flowers, consider putting water in the glass bottle.

5. Cardboard as centerpieces

Cardboard boxes can be used as centerpieces.

If you have a cardboard box that you no longer use, don’t throw it away! You can paint and decorate it, to turn it into a very pretty centerpiece that will be perfect at a birthday party.

For a children’s party, we suggest you paint the box yellow or another eye-catching color, and make red stripes. No need for a lid: you will fill the box with candies and other sweets, even balloons.

If it’s an adult party, you can put a personalized message on the box and place flowers inside. It is a very simple option to make and very economical.
